Dr. Chauhan, born and brought up into a family where Ayurveda is a part of every movement in a day, his great grandfather and mother Thakur Gokul Singh and Vaidyarani Kushalia from maternal side his maternal father Kaviraj Bajira Singh Ji was a renewed Raj Vaidya-state physician and he was great Naturopathic Psychologist while the maternal uncle Thakur Amar Singh Ji is an eminent Herbal Physician. Dr. Chauhan was born in the lap of Shivalik Hills of Himalaya Village, Jangpuram (Jangli-Sera) district Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh-India, A family of Captain Chanda Singh IDSM and Mrs. Kalawatti, his mother was also eminent herbalist. He received his primary education in near village government school Gauna-Kauror, he received his higher secondary education from government senior secondary school, Nadaun-Kangoo (H.P) but went on to acquire his post-secondary education from a well-known academic institutions.
Dr. Chauhan is the first student of Kaviraj Vaidya Pt. Amarnath Dogra at Kayakalp Sadan-Jalandhar City-Punjab and Acharya Ved Varat Sharma, Panchkula-Haryana, (under Guru-shishya tradition) he was taught Shalakya Tantra (Ayurvedic Ophthalmology) and Rasa Shastra-Kimiya (the art of Vedic alchemy)-National Academy of Ayurveda New Delhi-Central Government of India. He is the honorary member in scientific advisory committees of Central Council of Indian Institute of Ayur, Naturopathy and Yoga Sciences.

He has also formulated effective medicines for obstinate and chronic diseases like leucoderma, arthritis, diabetes, obesity, chronic bronchitis, asthma, hepatitis, psoriasis, cancer and like HIV-AIDS with the help of renowned herbalist Dr. H.R. Bangar and Dr. T.C. Sumbria.
Dr. Chauhan has founded, Chauhan Hospital and Ayur Research Foundation, at Kala Sanghian Kapurthala-India, to spread the message of holistic living, preventive method for health care. He has been honored with a degree of M.D. Ayurveda (Honoris-Causa) in Frankfurt conference in 1999 by the international Ayurvedic Medical Association-Germany.

Completed M.D. Research work at Nathalal Parekh Cancer Hospital & Research Center, Rajkot in 1997-1998, which was the collaborative center for the Jamnagar Ayurvedic University. Research work done for one and half year under guidance of Dr.V.K.Gupta-Medical Director and Chief Radiation Oncologist. The research project was on the "Role of Raudra Rasa in management of Arbuda" with special reference to cancer of head and neck. Presently collaboration with Lion's Cancer Hospital and Research Center, Surat under guidance of Dr.S.P.Shrivastava (Medical Director & Chief Radiation Oncologist) for comparative study to combat the side effect of radiotherapy and to increase the effect of radiotherapy in advance head & neck cancer and cervical cancer with radiation and plant product.
